Like many Mom's out there, the social media boom has certainly contributed to my "Mommy Guilt". Websites like Pinterest showcase amazing projects and recipes created by domestic goddesses who seem to do everything themselves, on a budget and with a level of creativity to rival that of Leonardo Da Vinci. Suddenly making plain old cupcakes out of boxed mix seemed, well, kind of boring.
I love to craft, cook, bake and create. However, I have three kids, a husband, a dog, and a career. I also like to sleep sometimes.
Last fall I began a lifestyle website and blog just for fun. At the ripe old age of 36, I came to the realization that I needed to keep my mind busy on things other than carpools, school fundraisers and tennis. My blogging experiment quickly spiraled into a non stop race against the clock. I felt constantly under pressure to create new unique content. What started off as a creative outlet quickly took over my life.
Sure my family enjoyed the fruits of my labors. There was always something fresh out of the oven or off of the stove to nosh on. Yet over time it seemed that the things that I once enjoyed doing became an added burden to my already full life.
When I finally realized that even I, a stay at home mom, with help, did not have the time to complete the projects that I was blogging about, it was time to reassess my priorities.
I decided to transform my blog into an online store that would offer creative solutions for gifts, home and event decor. By refocussing my efforts, I could offer more to my readers without the stresses of constantly creating new content.
All of this being said, I will continue to post recipes, projects and ideas. The only difference is, that most people may actually have the time to make them.
My Piñata Cones are a super fun treat that you can make for or with your kids. All you need are pre made mini cupcakes or muffins, ice cream cones, frosting and small candies. Click on the link below for this simple sweet treat.
Wishing you Love, Light & Sparkles,
